The following terms and conditions will apply to the services provided by Appliance Science (Shop) to You (Customer). It shall be the Customer’s sole responsibility to be familiar with these General Terms and Conditions, prior to the purchase of a used appliance or parts, or scheduling service from Appliance Science.
At Appliance Science, we strive to provide our customers with quality used appliances at affordable prices. However, given the pre-owned nature of our inventory, we cannot be held liable for any malfunctions, defects, or damage that may occur with the appliances, parts, or repair services post-purchase. While each item in our store undergoes a thorough inspection and refurbishment process, used appliances inherently carry a degree of risk. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge this risk and agree that Appliance Science is absolved of responsibility for any subsequent issues, repairs, or property damage related to the appliance. Our dedicated team is happy to answer questions and provide advice during your shopping experience but cannot extend warranties or guarantees beyond the point of sale. We encourage customers to review items carefully and make informed decisions with the understanding that all sales are final and "as is" unless otherwise specified.
Payment for merchandise constitutes acceptance of all conditions herein.
SALES TAX
Appliance Science will collect sales tax from the Customer at the time of purchase. The sales tax amount will be calculated based on the location where the merchandise is received by the Customer.
DAMAGE WAIVER
General Property – Please note that your appliance may need to be relocated/moved for the purposes of service or installation. While our technicians exercise the utmost care during this process, there is a potential risk of incidental damage, including flooring, countertops, baseboards, the purchased appliance, etc. By authorizing these services, you agree to release Appliance Science and its service personnel from liability for any such damage that may arise.
General Appliances – Appliance Science shall not be held responsible for any damage, failure, or other dangerous conditions resulting from the general use or misuse of the appliances. Appliances must be used solely for their intended purpose, as any use outside of the manufacturer's design specifications constitutes a hazard and may lead to fires, appliance failure, or other perilous outcomes.
Water Source Appliances – Refrigerators, Dishwashers, and Washing Machines/Steam Dryers – These appliances are attached to a water source. Appliance Science is not liable for any leaks or damage created by water from a purchased appliance (whether installed by us or by the Customer), while working on an appliance, after repair or installation is complete. Appliance Science HIGHLY recommends installing leak guards or sensors under appliances that have a water source.
LIMITATION OF DAMAGES
Appliance Science shall not be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages arising from a breach of warranty, breach of contract, negligence, or any other legal theory in connection with this agreement. Appliance Science's liability for damages shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the customer.
LIMITED WARRANTY
Appliance Science warrants that used appliances and parts purchased from us will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of purchase or receipt. Appliance Science includes a ninety (90) day waiver of the standard Trip Charge/Diagnostic Fee for in-home repairs on purchased appliances. If a defect is discovered within this 30-day warranty period, the purchaser must promptly notify us in writing at admin@appliancescience.biz and call directly do discuss the options. Appliance Science's sole obligation and the purchaser's exclusive remedy shall be, at Appliance Science's option, the replacement of any defective part or exchange of like appliance. All warranty claims are subject to inspection and approval by Appliance Science.
Customers will be charged a diagnostic fee and any repair costs for warranty claims that are found not to be the result of a defective appliance. Customer may be required to return the appliance to the shop for warranty repair depending on the location.
The forgoing warranty shall not apply to:
(a) the repair or replacement of any appliances used for multi-residential, commercial, or industrial applications,
(b) cosmetic or non-functional parts, including but not limited to glass, trim, knobs, panels, racks, tubs, baskets, structural parts, door liners, doors, shelves, water filters, and lint screens,
(c) plumbing supply water lines to any appliance, whether replaced or recommended for replacement by Appliance Science,
(d) the repair of any appliance that has been moved from the location to which it was originally sold. (Example: Damages due to customer pickup/delivery from store or installation.), or
(e) repairs on appliances for which parts are no longer available from the original manufacturer.
Additionally, Appliance Science shall be under no legal obligation to honor any warranty set forth herein unless Customer has paid all amounts owed. THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE AND LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THESE WARRANTIES EXTEND ONLY TO CUSTOMER.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of Colorado. Any dispute arising under this Agreement shall be resolved in the courts of the City of Thornton and Adams County, Colorado. Appliance Science, at its sole discretion, may elect to submit any such dispute to binding arbitration. In the event of a dispute, the Customer agrees to contact Appliance Science at admin@ApplianceScience.biz in an attempt to resolve the matter prior to taking any other action. Failure to do so will constitute a breach of this Agreement. Appliance Science will consider any proposed resolution in good faith, and the Customer agrees to abide by our decision. If the Customer seeks legal recourse, they will be responsible for Appliance Sciences’ legal fees. Additionally, the Customer waives the right to a jury trial for any controversies or claims related to this Agreement. This Agreement and the Customer's use of our website are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. The Adams County Court in the State of Colorado will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from this Agreement or the relationship between the parties. In the event of a breach or violation of this Agreement, Appliance Science reserves the right to pursue all available legal remedies, including actual damages, statutory maximum damages, profits, treble damages, and attorneys' fees and costs. These remedies are in addition to any monetary payments or other amounts owed under this Agreement.
REFUND POLICY
Our refund policy is designed to ensure fairness and clarity for all customers. All sales are considered final upon completion of the transaction. In the event a customer is unsatisfied with their purchase, we may, at our discretion, allow the item to be exchanged for another product of equal or lesser value. Exchanges are subject to product availability and must be requested within 30 days of the original purchase date. If a customer wishes to return an item for a refund rather than an exchange, a restocking fee may be applied to cover the costs associated with processing the return and restocking the item. The restocking fee varies depending on the product category and condition of the returned merchandise. Certain items, including special order, open parts, and all electronic parts, are ineligible for return or exchange under any circumstances. We reserve the right to refuse returns or exchanges at our sole discretion if we deem the request to be unreasonable or suspect fraud or abuse of our policy. By making a purchase from Appliance Science, customers acknowledge and agree to these refund terms and conditions.

By requesting or accepting services from Appliance Science, you hereby acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined on the publicly accessible website, www.ApplianceScience.biz. These terms and conditions govern the provision of services by Appliance Science and constitute a legally binding agreement between the client and Appliance Science. It is the client's responsibility to review and understand these terms and conditions before requesting or accepting services. If the client does not agree with any part of these terms and conditions, the client should not proceed with the request for or acceptance of services from Appliance Science.
Consultations
The company offers free phone consultations with a trained, experienced technician at the availability of said technician during normal business hours. These consultations are limited to 15 minutes and are not intended to provide diagnostic specifics. Diagnostics are available upon request. Diagnostics must be performed on-site and incur all standard trip/diagnostic fees.
Trip and Diagnostic Fees
The cost of repair will be presented to the customer in itemized format upon completion of an on-site diagnostic review, and will include the trip/diagnostic fee, parts, and any additional labor costs. Any fee incurred by requesting a site visit and/or diagnostic review without an associated approved repair at the time of diagnostic review are not refundable. The trip/diagnostic fee applies to a single appliance concern. Discounted diagnostics are available upon request for additional appliances/concerns diagnosed in the same site visit limited to technician availability. To ensure that an appointment is allotted appropriate time for multiple appliances when needed, it is recommended to make any additional appliance concerns known at the time of creating an appointment.
Invoicing
All invoices, including but not limited to diagnostic review and repair services, are due upon receipt unless other arrangements have been approved by Appliance Science. Invoices can be paid via email with a credit card. Appliance Science will never ask for your credit card information. Guarantee of Repairs
Appliance Science guarantees all repairs for a period of 30 days. During this period, no additional labor charges will be applied if the same problem reoccurs, provided the issue is reported within 30 days of the completed work order. If additional parts are required to address the same issue within the 30-day guarantee period, the client is responsible for the cost of the parts. However, no additional trip/diagnostic or labor charges will be incurred. For issues unrelated to the initial repair as determined by the diagnosing technician, both parts and labor costs are the client's responsibility. Such repairs are only performed upon client approval of an associated itemized estimate.
Potential Damages
While Appliance Science technicians are trained to ensure that expert care is always exhibited in your home and with your appliances, Appliance Science is not responsible for any damage caused by the technician or the appliance, including but not limited to water damage, fire, or damage to clothes. If an appliance is determined to be unsafe to operate, an Appliance Science technician will inform the client of the unsafe condition and document the recommendation to stop any use of the appliance until a repair is performed and the appliance is determined to be safe by an Appliance Science technician. Appliance Science is not responsible for any damage or injury resulting from the use of an appliance that has been determined unsafe to operate.
Right to Refuse Service
Appliance Science reserves the right to refuse service to any customer if deemed necessary at the discretion of Appliance Science, its employees, or any of its authorized representatives.
Privacy Policy
Appliance Science respects your privacy and is committed to protecting any information you provide. We collect information that clients provide, usually via phone.
The information collected is used exclusively to build a customer profile and assist with work order generation as requested by the client. It is utilized solely for the purpose of facilitating our services for you.
Appliance Science does not share any collected client information with third parties. Your information remains confidential and is used only within our organization for service-related purposes.
We retain collected information indefinitely to maintain accurate customer records and provide efficient services. However, clients have the right to request deletion or modification of their information by contacting us.
